What is call forwarding and why does LovShield need it?

Conditional call forwarding sends only your unanswered, busy, or unreachable calls to LovShield, so we can screen unknown callers before they reach you. Calls you answer yourself are unaffected.

Does call forwarding cost extra with my carrier?

On most major Canadian carriers, conditional call forwarding is included in your existing plan at no extra charge. Check with your carrier if you're unsure.

Can I turn off call forwarding later?

Yes. Each carrier provides a deactivation code (typically ##004# on mobile). The directory below shows the exact code for your provider.

Will this affect 911 or emergency calls?

No. LovShield only handles incoming calls — the service has no ability to place or interfere with outgoing calls of any kind, including 911. On the mobile app, only inbound screening is used. On landlines, the LovShield device sits in passthrough so outgoing calls go directly to your phone line as normal, and the line falls back to standard service if LovShield is ever unavailable.

What about voicemail?

LovShield handles unanswered calls instead of your carrier voicemail. Screened callers can still leave a voice message that you'll see in your LovShield app or dashboard.
